In 2008, Capstone began as "Murph’s Sprinkler and Landscaping," a side business created to help supplement the income of the Murphy household. After some time working at a local family trucking company, K.C. and Brook felt a calling to youth ministry and became involved in a new church plant in Wheatland.

For a couple of years, they balanced full-time work with ministry, but K.C. eventually decided to start a handyman business that would offer a more flexible schedule. This shift allowed him to dedicate more time to ministry and extracurricular activities, setting the foundation for what would become Capstone’s broader focus.

In 2014, after successfully passing the International Builders Exam, Capstone Industries was officially registered with the state of Wyoming as a Class A Contractor. The company began its journey by taking on smaller projects, including decks, concrete jobs, and renovations. By the end of its first year, Capstone had expanded to a crew of four and landed its first opportunity to build a custom home.

Since then, Capstone has continued to grow, with a commitment to professionalism and quality. The company has successfully completed a wide range of projects, from custom homes, post-frame buildings, and cabins to weekend getaways and commercial work. Notable projects include a business park, hospital renovations, work at a local community college in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and a dental office rebuild and renovation, among many others. Today, Capstone employs a dedicated team of three office staff and twelve skilled field crew members, all passionate about learning and growing both professionally and personally.

Capstone remains committed to integrating Biblical and Kingdom principles into its business practices, serving both employees and customers, past and present. The mission of Capstone is to partner with God in building men and women into the full potential He has designed for each individual.
